The File Manager tab configures how the File Manager permission scanner operates.
| Option | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| File Manager Path | JPATH_ROOT | The root directory to scan. Defaults to the Joomla installation root. You can restrict the scan to a subdirectory using the folder selector. |
| Path Exceptions | (empty) | A list of paths (one per line) to exclude from the scan. Use this to skip directories that are known to have non-standard permissions by design (e.g. cache directories, user upload directories). |
| Change Permissions Option | Chmod | Method used by the Repair function to fix incorrect permissions: Chmod (direct PHP chmod call) or FTP (uses FTP credentials configured in Joomla Global Configuration). Use FTP if your hosting environment does not allow PHP to change file permissions. |
| Delete Log File | Yes | When enabled, the scan log file is deleted after the scan completes. Disable this to retain the log for later review via the View Log button. |
