The Lock Tables tab in Global Configuration defines which database tables are protected by the Lock Tables feature.

| Option | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Lock Tables Easy Mode | Yes | When enabled, a simple multi-select list allows you to choose from the most commonly locked tables (Users and Content). When disabled, an advanced textarea lets you enter any table name (without the database prefix) as a comma-separated list. |
| Tables to Lock (Easy Mode) | users, content | Multi-select list of tables to lock when Easy Mode is enabled. Options: Users (#__users) and Content (#__content). |
| Tables to Lock (Advanced Mode) | users, user_usergroup_map, content, redirect_links, extensions | Comma-separated list of table names (without prefix) to lock in advanced mode. Only visible when Easy Mode is disabled. |
When the Lock Tables button is clicked on the Dashboard (or in the Lock Status sub-section), SecurityCheck Pro executes a MySQL LOCK TABLES ... READ statement for each configured table. This prevents any INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE operations on those tables until the tables are explicitly unlocked.
Locking the users table while the Joomla scheduler or other plugins are running can cause errors if those processes need to write to the user table. Use the Lock Status controls on the Dashboard to lock and unlock tables as needed rather than leaving them permanently locked.
