The Email Notifications tab configures automatic email alerts sent when the Web Firewall blocks an attack.
| Option | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Email Active | No | Enables attack email notifications. When disabled, no emails are sent. |
| Add Applied Rule | No | When enabled, the email body includes the specific firewall rule or filter that blocked the request. |
| Max Emails per Day | (number) | Maximum number of attack alert emails sent per day. Use this to prevent email floods during a sustained attack. |
| Subject | (empty) | The subject line for attack alert emails. |
| To | (empty) | The recipient email address. Defaults to the Joomla site administrator email if left empty. |
| From Domain | (empty) | The sender domain (e.g. yourdomain.com). |
| From Name | (empty) | The sender display name. |
| Body | (empty) | The email body template. You can include attack details using template placeholders. |
A Send Test Email button lets you verify the email configuration before enabling notifications.
This feature is disabled by default because it depends on the server mail function. Verify that your email configuration works correctly before enabling. If email notifications are active but the mail function is misconfigured, blocked attackers may see PHP error messages.
