How It Works

The View Logs page displays the firewall attack log - every request that the Web Firewall plugin detected and blocked or permitted, depending on your configuration. Logs are only recorded when the Log Attacks option is enabled in Web Firewall Configuration > Logs.

Action bar

The page title is View Firewall Logs. No additional action buttons appear in the action bar; all operations are performed via the search toolbar and the table checkbox.

If log recording is disabled, a prominent alert is shown explaining that no logs are being recorded and providing a link to enable the option.

Search and filter

A standard Joomla search toolbar appears above the table, allowing you to filter the log list by keyword, date range, attack type, and other fields depending on your Joomla version. The table supports sorting by clicking column headers.

Reading the logs

Each log entry records a single detected attack or access event. The table is paginated and supports standard Joomla pagination controls.

For a description of the table columns, see Log Format. For an explanation of each attack type, see Log Types.

Bulk actions

Select rows using the checkboxes and use the toolbar actions to:

  • Mark as Read - sets the selected entries to read status
  • Mark as Unread - resets entries to unread status
  • Delete - permanently removes selected entries from the database

Deleting log entries is permanent and cannot be undone. Export important log data before purging.
