Installation

JOOMLA Securitycheck Pro supports PHP 7 and 8, and Joomla 3 (legacy), 4, 5 and 6.

Installing Securitycheck Pro is straightforward. Go to the Extension Manager, select Install and browse to your zipped Securitycheck Pro file:

Joomla Extension Manager - Install tab with file upload

There are other ways to install extensions; you can find them on this page.

Click the Upload & Install button and the installation will complete automatically.

If you already have Securitycheck installed, Securitycheck Pro will uninstall it first to avoid plugin conflicts. Any previously recorded logs will be erased during this process.

Setup wizard

Since version 5.2.0, the first time you open the SecurityCheck Pro dashboard after a fresh installation a setup wizard configures the firewall based on a few questions about your site:

  1. Is your website behind a CDN or reverse proxy (Cloudflare, Sucuri...)? If you answer yes, you must provide the IP ranges of your CDN/proxy — without them the firewall cannot know the real IP of your visitors and could even block your own CDN. A button fills in the official Cloudflare ranges automatically; for other providers, check their documentation.
  2. Does your site show traces of WordPress scans? Enables the URL Inspector plugin.
  3. Do you always connect from the same device/connection? Adjusts the session protection strictness.
  4. Block IPs with repeated failed logins? Enables automatic blocking of brute-force attempts.
  5. Receive an email on backend logins? Enables the admin login notification.

You can skip the wizard and configure everything manually later; it only appears once. All the settings it applies can be reviewed afterwards in the Global Configuration and the Firewall Configuration.

WORDPRESS Securitycheck Pro for WordPress supports PHP 7 and 8, and WordPress 5.x and 6.x. It also works on both single sites and multisites.

To install Securitycheck Pro for WordPress, use the WordPress plugin upload tool in the admin area:

Once you have selected the file, click the Install Now button. WordPress will upload the plugin file from your computer and install it automatically. When the installation finishes, you will see a success message like this:

All that remains is to click the Activate Plugin button (or Network Activate on multisites) to start using the plugin.
